     You'll stumble on a charming lake called Thompson Lake near Lake Oglethorpe, and get covered with water paddling on Rose Creek. During the long summer days highs here at Lake Oglethorpe get into the 80's while night lows are ordinarily in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Lake Oglethorpe. Much precipitation falls at Lake Oglethorpe; during March this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is  
   September. The Scull Shoals Trail is a glorious hiking trail right next door to Lake Oglethorpe, and magnificent water scenery is available at Lake Oglethorpe Dam next to Lake Oglethorpe.
Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Downtown, and Lake Oglethorpe is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a delightful local campground. So many exciting things next to Lake Oglethorpe, clearly remarkable. If the
 
               weather is wonderful here at Lake Oglethorpe, you can go for a hike along the Mounds Trail; camping at Watson Mill Bridge State Park is always a brilliant experience. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Oglethorpe is a place with many visitors from Athens-Clarke County; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Goulding Creek.
If you need a spot to stay Hilton Garden Inn Athens Downtown is a good choice, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Big Clouds Creek. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake Oglethorpe you can take a hike along the Falling Camp Trail, and lakes are such peaceful sites, why not explore Twin Lakes.
