What a nice lake Lake Oglethorpe is. High temperatures at Lake Oglethorpe through the summertime months are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lake Oglethorpe. This lake is so wonderful. Get dripping wet paddling on Big Clouds Creek. There's so much to do here at Lake Oglethorpe that you need to camp here for a while, Oconee

| | River Campground and Picnic Area is a wonderful location for that. Lake Oglethorpe is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily March, that's the one that rains the most, and September is the month with the least moisture. So much enjoyable stuff near Lake Oglethorpe, absolutely striking. Paddling on Rose Creek is so much fun, and if you're here, you could take a look at Goulding Creek. Dry warm beds await you | |

at Comfort Suites Athens, and needless to say, this is a pleasant neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Twin Lakes is a lake close at hand. Lake Oglethorpe is good enough to spend more than a day at, Watson Mill Bridge State
Park is a good local campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Athens,Ga is a delightful choice, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along
the Falling Camp Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Mounds Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Athens-Clarke County here. Why not stop at Lake Oglethorpe Dam while you're here. Lakes are good; Thompson Lake is a lake that's close to Lake Oglethorpe.
