Best Western Dawson Village Inn is a splendid site to get some rest, and folks from Gainesville love to come here. Paddling on Etowah River is so much fun, and an afternoon playing golf at Country Land Golf Course is always a diversion. Settingdown Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Dawsonville is a perfect       choice. So many fun things to do here at Lake Marie, too perfect to be true. There's delightful hiking along the Brookshire Creek Trail, and Kalb Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. At Lake Marie Dam near Lake Marie there are some attention-grabbing things to see; camping at Lumpkin Campground is always a wonderful experience. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Marie a wet place; the month of March is the wettest with most of                  the rain while October is regularly the driest month. For the period of the summertime months, highs generally are in the 80's at Lake Marie, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Lake Marie descend into the 20's. A lake nearby is Anderson Lake Number One, and a perfect place to camp here at Lake Marie is Hidden Valley Resort. This lake is so wonderful.
