Lakes are great; Dam Number 65 is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Lake George. For the duration of the long summer days at Lake George temperatures are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Lake George tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. If       you came for an overnight stay Watson Mill Bridge State Park is a fine location to camp; you'll perhaps meet some folks from Athens-Clarke County here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake George a wet spot; the wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that rains the most while September is typically the driest month. Lake George is next to Lake George Dam which is a picturesque spot without doubt worth taking a look at; get                  your heart beating on the great whitewater of Big Clouds Creek. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Lake George. There's good hiking along the Scull Shoals Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Devils Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake George without first going for a hike along the Mounds Trail. Go for a hike on the Falling Camp Trail, and a splendid nearby hotel is Hilton Garden Inn Athens Downtown.
