    If you are in this part of Georgia make sure to pay a visit to Lake Cherful. Lakes are good; Lake Cherful Dam is a lake that's right next door to Lake Cherful, and if you came for an overnight stay Marietta Campground is a fine place to camp. This place, Lake Cherful, it truly has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Paddling on Big Creek is so much fun; Best Western Roswell Suites is a nice site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. La Siesta RV Park is a  
   tremendous campground nearby, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Garrett Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. The views at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area will blow your mind. All through the days of summer at Lake Cherful highs are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime
 
               temperatures at Lake Cherful sink into the 20's. Float down the rapids of Marsh Creek in a kayak, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn ATLANTA/ROSWELL is a splendid site to spend a night or two.
Rocky Creek is a wonderful place to go to, and perfect water scenery is available at Lake Cherful Dam close to Lake Cherful. A round of golf at nearby Bradshaw Farms Golf Course is a great way to kill some time, and during your spree here you'll meet some people from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta for sure. A good deal of rain falls at Lake Cherful; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is October.

Just thought you should know this, but Simmons Lake essentially doesn't exist anymore. I'm an Atlanta native who grew up in DeKalb County and attended Lakeside High School; back when I was a teenager I saw work done on the neighboring Echo Lake, which is surrounded by nice middle-class homes. From what I can tell, the lake was dredged, I guess in order to save it, and Simmons Lake (across Briarcliff Road) was essentially sacrificed for its sake, taking the excess silt from Echo Lake. There's still a small pond there, quite shallow, in the areas closet to Briarcliff Road and Echo Lake, but nothing like what I once knew; over the years even the trees and undergrowth have reclaimed most of the area the lake had once covered when I was a boy...
