Hiking is a popular thing to do around Jones Lake; Allison Lake Wildlife Trail is a good local trail, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Hilltop Inn. Jones Lake is not the only spot nearby, Chief McIntosh Lake is a nearby lake, and get dripping wet paddling on Little Towaliga River. Jones Lake Dam is a beautiful place in the neighborhood of Jones Lake, and paddling on Big Sandy Creek is so much fun. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Jones Lake. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Jackson is a fine spot to spend a night or two, and don't leave Jones Lake without first going for a hike along | |

the Ocmulgee River Trail. Camping is available at High Falls State Park; camping at Indian Springs State Park is always a glorious experience. High temperatures at Jones Lake through the summertime months are in the 80's while
overnight lows are regularly in the 60's. Highs throughout the winter are typically in the 50's while Jones Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 30's.

 | have paddled several streams in area, including high falls from below horseshoe rapids to ga 42. very similar to lil' towaliga - very shallow, rocky, bumpy ride... high water makes for better ride but can be dangerous with rocks, sharp bends in channel w/ falls, rapids around corners, watch out for snakes and (...).... |
