Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Jones Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Jones Lake descend into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Overmountain       Victory National Historic Trail is a tremendous local destination here at Jones Lake, and if you need a site to stay Days Inn McDonough is a glorious choice. Be careful coming to Jones Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. Boyds Lake is a brilliant lake right next door to Jones Lake, and Georgia National Golf Club is a perfect golf course close by. There's whitewater on South River for all you adrenaline junkies, and dry warm beds await you                  at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson McDonough. This lake is so wonderful. Shingle Roof Campground is a pleasant campground nearby; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Big Cotton Indian Creek. There are other locations here than Jones Lake, for example Duggan Lake; you can run the rapids of Yellow River.
