     Do check out Jones Lake Dam while you're here at Jones Lake; swamps are attention-grabbing places and Alligator Bay near Jones Lake is no exception. Jones Lake ordinarily gets much rainfall; throughout August this area sees the most rain; October meanwhile is the driest month. Yeah, come here to Jones Lake for a glorious time. Jones Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Daisy Farms RV Park is a fine place to camp nearby. Bellaire Woods Campground  
   is a good local campground. Lakes? Sure, Haarley Lake is in close proximity.
Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Jones Lake. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 50's, and overnight lows at Jones Lake during the winter typically sink into the 30's. Haarley Lake
The subject lake was never named Haarley Lake.

When it was first built, it was named after a guy named Haar who, along with his family was killed in a boating accident. He was president of the Savannah Outboard Motor Racing Association.

After the Association, which built the lake, defaulted on its responsibilities to maintain the dam in good order, its owner Bertie D. Burpitt, changed the name to Burpitt's Lake.

After the death of Mr. Burpitt, and eventual sale of the property, the lake was renamed yet again Lake Loraine, which is its name today.

I know all this because Mr. Burpitt was my grandfather and I was raised on the property since before the lake was constructed....
