If you are in Pike county it's always a good idea to stop by Johnson Lake. Why not go to Johnson Lake Dam since you're here; Johnson Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Ramsey Mobile Home and RV Park is a nice local campground. If you need a place to stay Thomaston-Days Inn is a pleasant choice, and if you came to camp Pirkle Campground is a great place to do that. You absolutely should go for Johnson Lake. | | offers some great whitewater, and a lake nearby is Jones Lake. A lot of precipitation falls at Johnson Lake; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Newnan, GA, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Thomaston. The warmest time of the year at Johnson Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's. | |

Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and night lows at Johnson Lake during the winter typically drop into the 30's. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Flint River; a round of golf at nearby Beaver Lake Golf & Country Club is a nice way to kill some time.
