A splendid site to camp here at Johnson Lake is Nelly Plum Campground, and Best Western Mountain View Inn is a nice spot to get some rest. Johnson Lake is not the only place close by, Lovejoy Lake is a close by lake, and camping at Diamond Lure Campground is always a great experience. Be careful coming to Johnson Lake, you might not ever want to return back home again. A fine location for whitewater paddling near Johnson Lake is Cartecay River, and a wonderful

| | place nearby is Stover Gap. Johnson Lake gets a great deal of water; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. You get a splendid view of Turniptown Mountain from Johnson Lake, and if you've had enough of Johnson Lake, Clotfelter Lake is close by. is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Johnson Lake; Tearbritches Trail is a great local trail; why not take a refreshing hike along the Mountaintown Creek Trail. During the warm days of summer at Johnson Lake
highs are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Johnson Lake. This lake is so wonderful.

It holds many memories for me as I am sure it will for you....I have stayed at the Diamond lure in the past and found the campground and the operaters to be of a high quality.
