All through the summertime at Johns Pond temperatures are mostly in the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Through the winter the highs are commonly in the 60's, and night lows at Johns Pond during the wintertime commonly fall into the 30's. After a long day outdoors Waycross-Days Inn is a great place to spend a night or two, and Johns Pond is great enough to spend more than a day       at, Strickland Ferry Camp is a great local campground. There's so much to do here at Johns Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Traders Hill Recreation Area is a good spot for that, and you can go for a hike on the Indian Trail. Johns Pond really is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. There are plenty of people from Waycross here at Johns Pond; don't leave Johns Pond without first going for a hike along the Okefenokee Wilderness Canoe                  Trail. Johns Pond commonly gets a great deal of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are tremendous; Marys Lake is a lake that's near Johns Pond, and swamps are interesting spots and Gum Slough close to Johns Pond is no exception.
