Johns Pond generally gets a lot of rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here while October is mostly the driest month. All the outdoors cool stuff next to Johns Pond will keep you coming back persistently. Camping at Traders Hill Recreation Area is always a fine experience, and a brilliant site to camp here at Johns Pond is Strickland Ferry Camp. Swamps are attention-grabbing places and Gum Slough close to Johns       Pond is no exception, and going for a hike on the Okefenokee Wilderness Canoe Trail is always a great adventure. You'll meet a lot of folks from Waycross here, and dry warm beds await you at Bradbury Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Bel Air Motel is a great spot to get some rest, and close by you come across the Indian Trail which is a great hiking trail. During the warmest time of the year at Johns Pond highs are commonly in the 90's. Summer night lows sink                  down to the 60's.
