Jackson Lake in fact is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. There's so much to do here at Jackson Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Truitt-fulton is a perfect place for that, and if you get bored of Jackson Lake you could also pop by close by Joy Lake. If you came to camp Pirkle Campground | |

is a wonderful spot to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Why not pop by Jackson Lake Dam if you're here, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Jonesboro is a nice spot to spend a night or two. Visiting Overmountain Victory
National Historic Trail is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and you'll most likely meet some people from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta here.

Buena Vista Lake
 | 14 miles away It's not only accessible but it's very accessible. For some bizarre reason the County put in a boat ramp, so get out there and paddle around a bit. Pick up some trash left by some people and storm runoff while your at it....I was born and grew up in the community surrounding this lake from 1955 to 1969. Too bad it is not more easily accessible....Buena Vista Lake is just a tiny pond in a city park. There is no reason for tourists to visit unless you happen to be staying in the neighborhood and want to take a walk.... |
