There is a pleasant hiking trail next to Jack Lake called the Indian Trail; you'll come across a wonderful lake called Boggy Lake. Jack Lake is a wet location that gets a great deal of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while October is generally the driest month. If you came to camp Traders Hill Recreation Area is a perfect spot to do that, and a great swamp in close proximity       to Jack Lake is Christie Prairie. High temperatures at Jack Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 90's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 60's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Jack Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Ridley's Chenille and Trailer is always a nice experience, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Okefenokee Wilderness Canoe Trail.
