The beauty of Iris Lakes attracts many people from all around. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Iris Lakes, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with temperatures at Iris Lakes dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Get yourself into a kayak and hit South River, and golf can be played at Cotton Fields Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Visiting Overmountain Victory

| | National Historic Trail is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and if you come at the right time of year, Towaliga River offers some nice whitewater.
If only every location had this much outdoors fun things, what a great world it would be. There's so much to do here at Iris Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, New Hope Campground is a fine place for that, and Microtel Inns & Suites is a fine site to get some rest. Stay the night at | |

Shingle Roof Campground, and do visit Iris Lake East Dam while you're here. Iris Lakes sees pretty high levels of rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here while September is typically the driest month.
Lakes are nice;
Iris Lake East is a lake that's close to Iris Lakes; after a long day outdoors Mcdonough - Days Inn is a magnificent location to spend a night or two.
