If you haven’t been to Ocmulgee National Monument, you have to schedule some time for it since you're here, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Twin Bridges Trail. Camping at Lake Juliette Dames Ferry Park is always a good experience; brilliant water scenery is available at Hungerford Lake Dam in close proximity to Hungerford       Lake. Throughout the warm days of summer at Hungerford Lake highs are typically in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Hungerford Lake. Hungerford Lake gets much water; the month with most of the rain is March, and October is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing                  water nearby, Cedar Creek is a stream you can stop at while here, and a fine close by hotel is Candlewood Suites MACON. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Jones County Lake Jonesco Golf Course is a tremendous way to kill some time, and people from Macon love to come here. Going for a hike on the Allison Lake Wildlife Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and a lake nearby is Dumas Lake. Having a brilliant time at Hungerford Lake is painless.
