    Why not stop by Hughes Lake if you're passing through these parts. Throughout the warm days of summer at Hughes Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 50's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Hughes Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. A stunning lake like Ramsey Pond in close proximity to Hughes Lake is a magnificent  
   spot to go to, and float down the rapids of Cedar Creek in a kayak.
If you came to camp Sunset Campground is a brilliant place to do that; hiking is a popular thing to do around Hughes Lake; Chattooga Trail is a great local trail. Hughes Lake commonly gets a great deal of rainfall; through the month of March you get the most rain around here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hughes Lake is right by the Burrells Ford Trail, and
 
               Country Hearth Inn Toccoa is a great place to get some rest.
Take a side visit to Rock Creek, and Hughes Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Church Campground is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Chauga River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Bartram Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. A great close by hotel is Toccoa Days Inn; you'll possibly meet some people from Toccoa here.
