A brilliant place for whitewater paddling close to Hughes Lake is Little Towaliga River,       and you can take a little trip to Hughes Lake Dam since you're here at Hughes Lake. Hughes Lake gets a lot of water; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. A great site to camp here at Hughes Lake is Tabernacle Campground, and a lake close by is Rowell Lake. Take a side journey to Kelsey Branch; if you get bored of Hughes Lake you could also explore nearby Hatcher Lake. For the period of the summertime                  months highs here at Hughes Lake get into the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's.
