You definitely must like the Blue Ridge Mountains. Camping at Gold 'n Gem Grubbin' Campground is always a perfect experience; a splendid close by hotel is Cleveland Days Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Knight Lake, and glorious hiking is available along the Whitly Gap Trail. At Hills Lake through the summertime months highs are in the 80's with nighttime       lows in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Hills Lake. Man, is there loads of fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's great hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and float down the rapids of Tesnatee Creek in a kayak. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Helen is a delightful location to spend a night or two, and at Hills Lake Dam in the vicinity of Hills Lake there                  are some interesting things to see. Camping is available at Jenny's Creek Campground. Lakes? Sure, Black Lake is in the neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Raven Cliff Falls Trail, and if you're visiting from Gainesville, you won't be the only one. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. Hills Lake is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is October. And that's not all you can do here at Hills Lake.
