You'll need more than a day to look at everything Head Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Pines Camp Ground, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Columbus. Looking for some flowing water? Try Cooper Creek; you'll almost certainly meet some people from Columbus here. Opossum Lake Dam has tremendous water scenery and it's close to Head Lake, and get drenched paddling on Chattahoochee       River. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Oxbow Creek Golf Course, and if you need a site to stay Columbus-Days Inn Macon Road is a wonderful choice. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Head Lake. While you're here at Head Lake, you could also stop by scenic Opossum Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mulberry Creek. Head Lake commonly gets a large amount of precipitation; July is the wettest                  month with most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Head Lake is a good location to camp, Anthony's Mobile Park is a good location. At Head Lake through the summer highs are in the 90's while overnight lows are mostly in the 60's.
