This place, Hawkins Lake, it just has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. If you came for an overnight stay Heart of Georgia RV Park is a glorious place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Hawkins Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Thomaston, also Hawkins Lake Dam is worth going to while you're here. Camping is available at Pirkle Campground; whitewater paddling       is great on Potato Creek. Hawkins Lake is a pretty wet place frequently with a large amount of precipitation; all through March this area sees the most rain while October is regularly the driest month. Flint River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by; a tremendous nearby hotel is Thomaston-Days Inn. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Hawkins Lake. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime                  are in the 50's; nighttime lows at Hawkins Lake all through the winter commonly descend into the 30's.
