Hardman Lake is a spot with many visitors from Cornelia, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Big Panther Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Hardman Lake, you could also have a look at nearby Reservoir 36, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Sky Valley. A lake nearby is Waters Lake. There's so much to do here at Hardman Lake
that you need to camp here for a while, Terrora Park Campground is a fine location for that.

Stay the night at Panther Creek Campground, and after a long day outdoors Country Hearth Inn Toccoa is a fine spot to spend a night or two. There's whitewater on Tallulah River for all you adrenaline people; why not pop by close by Horse Creek while you're here at Hardman Lake.
Go for a hike on the Bartram Trail, and if you need a location to stay Toccoa Days Inn is a great choice. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a glorious time here at Hardman Lake. A round of golf at nearby Apple Mountain Golf Club is a good way to kill some time, and you don’t have to go far from Hardman Lake to catch a sight of the water at Hardman Dam.

Stonecypher Lake

...950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
The shorelines and surounding hills are populated with native hardwoods and pine, creating scenery which is unsurpassed in the area. Wild turkey, deer, beave...
