Harden Lake is a nice lake to visit. At Harden Lake during the warm months highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Harden Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Reservoir 44 is a lake around here, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on North Oconee River. Super 8 Motel - Commerce is a fine place to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is great on Nancy Town River. Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Commerce Koa Kampground is a nice location for that. Near Harden Lake you find a golf course called Sandy Creek Golf Course Eagle, and Harden Lake is brilliant enough to spend more
than a day at, Lumber Jacks Camping Resort is a brilliant local campground. Any time is a brilliant time at Harden Lake if you adore the outdoors. This is a popular location for people from Cornelia; why not a little side visit to
Black Creek. The high level of rainfall makes Harden Lake a pretty wet location; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most; October on the other hand is the driest.

 | 17 miles away ...ainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed. The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates. Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings. Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin. The shorelines and surounding hills are populated with native hardwoods and pine, creating scenery which is unsurpassed in the area.
