The high level of precipitation makes Grassy Pond a rather wet place; most of the rain falls through July, and the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Lake Alcyone is right next door to Grassy Pond, and if you need a place to       stay Valdosta-Days Inn Lake Park is a pleasant choice. Camping is available at Paradise Island Fishing, and there are plenty of folks from Valdosta here. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Grassy Pond has it all. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Turket Creek, and if you're here, you could stop at Greenwater Branch.
