     Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Savannah River, and you can stay the night at Flynn's Inn Camping Village. The high level of precipitation makes Goshen Lake a reasonably wet location; March is the month that gets the most rain, and November meanwhile is the driest month. The warmest time of the year at Goshen Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 50's with winter lows in the  
   30's overnight here at Goshen Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Augusta, and if you've had enough of Goshen Lake, McDade Pond is close by.

Goshen Lake Dam has delightful water scenery and it's in close proximity to Goshen Lake, and a golf course nearby is Goshen Plantation Golf Club. There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams....
