     Cash Pond is a nearby lake that you could check out, and you can run the rapids of Rice Creek. Goolsby Pond gets a large amount of water; the wettest month of the year is typically March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful. Goolsby Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a fine local campground; if you need a location to stay Knights Inn & Suites Toccoa  
   is a tremendous choice.
All through the long summer days at Goolsby Pond highs are typically in the 80's, and the overnight is fairly chillier of course, frequently in the 60's. During the wintertime highs are regularly in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Goolsby Pond temperatures dip to the 20's. People from Toccoa love to come to Goolsby Pond, and if you get bored of Goolsby Pond you could also explore nearby Andrews Pond.

Stonecypher Lake
...e is a private lake located 5 miles south of Toccoa Ga in the foothills of the Smokie Mountains. It is fed by Freeman Creek, McAvoy Branch and Coe Branch.
This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
