Near Glade Lake you locate the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Be careful coming to Glade Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. The Whitly Gap Trail is a great hiking trail close to Glade Lake, and you can run the rapids of Flat Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Glade Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mossy       Creek Campground is a great spot for that, and a round of golf at nearby Pine Hill Golf Course is a great way to kill some time. Glade Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Lakeside Mobile Home and Travel is a fine local campground, and lots of people from Gainesville come here. On a perfect day at Glade Lake you can take a hike along the Raven Cliff Falls Trail, and it's a good idea to stop by Dog Creek. Dry warm beds await you at Gainesville                  Days Inn, and Little River - East Fork is a great whitewater spot close by. All through the summer here at Glade Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; nighttime lows at Glade Lake all through the wintertime mostly descend into the 20's. Glade Lake gets a good deal of water; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is October.
