Man, is there loads of entertaining stuff to do in close proximity to Gillilan Lake. Gillilan Lake is not the only spot close by, Griffin Lake is a close by lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Inn Of Dalton is a good site to spend a night or two. At Gillilan Lake throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. The wintertime comes with       highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Gillilan Lake tend to be in the 20's. There are plenty of people from Dalton here at Gillilan Lake, and if you're here you can play some golf at Tunnel Hill Golf Club. Camping at Shipps RV Center and Campground is always a great experience, and Super 8 Motel Dalton is a brilliant location to get some rest. Mill Creek Gap is a brilliant site to explore, and Griffin Lake Dam has great water scenery.                  A quick journey to North Fork Mill Creek close to Gillilan Lake is a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Ringgold Koa Kampground is a nice location to do that, and Blue Mountain can be observed from Gillilan Lake.
