Gibson Lake really is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Paddling on Mountaintown Creek is so much fun, and camping at Fort Mountain State Park is always a perfect experience. Gibson Lake is right by the Mountaintown Creek Trail, and not far from Gibson Lake you'll hit upon Hill Lake which is a picturesque lake.       What a place this is for outdoors people. Whitewater paddling is nice on Holly Creek, and as expected Boatwright Branch flows through this region. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous nearby hotel is Best Western Mountain View Inn, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Mountaintown Watershed Lake Number Three. At Gibson Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. High                  temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and night lows through the wintertime for Gibson Lake tend to be in the 20's. Gibson Lake is a rather wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; October on the other hand is the driest. There's great hiking along the Bear Creek Trail, and Mulberry Gap is a pleasant location to have a look at. Gibson Lake Dam is worth checking out while you're here, and Best Western Fairwinds Inn & Suites is a great spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.
