While you're here at Gholston Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Athens-Clarke County, and Sunrise Golf Club is a good golf course close by. Lakes are such serene locations, why not take a look at Stoehr Lake near Gholston Lake, and Broad River is a glorious whitewater spot nearby. There's so much to do here at Gholston Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Watson Mill Bridge State Park is a brilliant       place for that, and a tremendous close by hotel is Comfort Suites Athens. Gholston Lake is a reasonably wet place generally with a lot of rainfall; through March this area sees the most rain; the driest month is September. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Gholston Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures                  at Gholston Lake descend into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Gholston Lake Dam is an interesting thing to check out, and in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Skull Shoal Creek. If you need a site to stay Ramada Limited Royston is a good choice. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are beyond doubt plentiful here at Gholston Lake.
