Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is one of the destinations in the neighborhood of Georges Lake that are good to go to, and not far from Georges Lake you'll locate Ub Lake Dam which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. All through the warm months at Georges Lake highs are commonly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's

There's some exciting stuff to spot at Georges Lake Dam near Georges Lake; Georges Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Campwest Minster is a glorious local campground. Hotel & Suites COVINGTON, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Highland Golf Club is close at hand. The high level of rain makes Georges Lake a reasonably wet location; through the month of March you get the most
rain around here, and September meanwhile is the driest month. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Yellow River; Griffin Mountain is easy to spot from Georges Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
If you need a place to stay Days Inn Conyers is a pleasant choice. Lakes? Sure, Smiths Lake is close at hand.

 | Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
