There's great hiking along the Scull Shoals Trail; Durhamtown Plantation Sportsman's Resort is a glorious local campground. George Lake mostly gets a good deal of rain; March is the wettest month with most rain while September is regularly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available       along the Falling Camp Trail, and after a long day outdoors Jameson Inn Greensboro is a great place to spend a night or two. While you're here at George Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Milledgeville. At George Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 80's; the overnight is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at George Lake.                  Don't leave George Lake without first going for a hike along the Town Creek Bike Trail, and George Lake Dam is an interesting thing to check out. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at George Lake.
