Hiking is a popular thing to do around Galepost Lake; Indian Trail is a tremendous local trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Galepost Lake has to offer, you can camp at Traders Hill Recreation Area. Galepost Lake gets a large amount of water; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest month of the year is October. There's fine hiking along the Okefenokee       Wilderness Canoe Trail. There's so much to do here at Galepost Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Okefenokee Pastimes is a fine place for that. Summertime highs at Galepost Lake typically tend to be in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 70's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 60's while Galepost Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's.
