A swamp like Chase Prairie close to Galepost Lake has lots of out of the ordinary things to see, and close by you discover the Okefenokee Wilderness Canoe Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. There's so much to do here at Galepost Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Traders Hill Recreation Area is a great location for that; a nice nearby hotel is Best Western Bradbury Inn & Suites. This lake is so       wonderful. Galepost Lake is not the only place close by, Fishingpole Lake is a close by lake; going for a hike on the Indian Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Galepost Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; August is when you get the most rain here; October is the month with the least moisture. At Galepost Lake all through the summer months highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 70's.
