This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Traders Hill Recreation Area is always a tremendous experience, and Chase Prairie is a swamp right next door to Galepost Lake. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Galepost Lake. Camping is available at Okefenokee Pastimes, and a splendid nearby hotel is Best Western Bradbury       Inn & Suites. For the period of the days of summer here at Galepost Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 60's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Galepost Lake temperatures plunge to the 30's. Do go to Sometime Hole in the neighborhood of Galepost Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and there's good hiking along the Okefenokee Wilderness                  Canoe Trail.
