Fred Vaughn Lake is a pretty wet place typically with lots of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March, and October is the month with the least moisture. A delightful site to camp here at Fred Vaughn Lake is L and D RV Park, and you'll almost certainly meet some people       from Thomaston here. Towaliga River is a splendid whitewater spot close to Fred Vaughn Lake, and Fred Vaughn Lake is not the only site close by, Persons Lake is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Forsyth KOA, and going for a hike along the Kinnard Horse Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Man, is there plenty of entertaining stuff to do near Fred Vaughn Lake. A golf course right next door to Fred                  Vaughn Lake is Forsyth Golf Club, and you can run the rapids of Little Towaliga River. Why not stop by Jones Lake Dam since you're here; hiking along the Ocmulgee River Trail is nice fun. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent close by hotel is Best Western Hilltop Inn; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Cole Creek. Summertime highs at Fred Vaughn Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's.
