Jones Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by; you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the       Ocmulgee River Trail. While you're here at Fred Vaughn Lake you can play some golf at Forsyth Golf Club; if you came to camp L and D RV Park is a great site to do that. Fred Vaughn Lake gets a good deal of water; the wettest month of the year is frequently March, that's the one that rains the most, and October is the month with the least moisture. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Towaliga River, and a tremendous                  close by hotel is Budget Inn Express. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Little Towaliga River; Best Western Hilltop Inn is a magnificent spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Kinnard Horse Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. For the period of the long summer days here at Fred Vaughn Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's.
