Potato Creek Watershed Lake Number Six is a lake in the neighborhood, and camping is available at Heart of Georgia RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Days Inn Thomaston is a perfect choice, and Willingham Spring is always fun to check out. For the period of the summer here at Franklin Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 90's; during summer nights temperatures are in the       60's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Franklin Lake. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Hickory Ridge Golf Club. Paddling on Potato Creek is so much fun, and during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Thomaston for sure. The high level of precipitation makes Franklin Lake a rather wet spot; most of the rain falls all through March, and October on the other                  hand is the driest. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Franklin Lake. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Flint River, and the panorama of delightful Bull Trail Mountain is good. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby New Lake, and Econo Lodge Thomaston is a delightful place to get some rest.
