The warmest time of the year at Fort Mountain Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the overnight is quite cooler of course, typically in the 60's. Good hiking is available along the River Mont Cave Historical Trail, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn       Kimball is a brilliant location to spend a night or two. Everybody loves Mason Bottom, and Fort Mountain Lake is a place with many visitors from Scottsboro. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little journey to Hogue Creek since you're here at Fort Mountain Lake, and Coon Creek is a great whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Dogwood Hills Golf Club, and Russell Cave National Monument is one of the destinations that are great to check out close by. Having a brilliant time at Fort Mountain Lake is trouble-free. Fort Mountain Lake is a wet location that gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is when it's the driest. All the outdoors fun things in close proximity to Fort Mountain Lake will keep you coming back over and over. Why not stop at Fort Mountain State Park Dam if you're here, and a nice location for whitewater paddling is Flat Rock / Coon Creek. Fort Mountain Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Thunder Canyon Campground is a glorious local campground; there are other sites here than Fort Mountain Lake, for example Mansel Wolf Lake.
