But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Ford Lake. Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is a great national park; a perfect nearby hotel is Homestead Inn. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot for whitewater paddling near Ford Lake is Long Swamp Creek, and at Ford Lake Dam next to Ford Lake there are       some attention-grabbing things to see. Ford Lake is a pretty wet place usually with a great deal of rain; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is October. Summertime highs at Ford Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and the overnight is a tad colder of course, mostly in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Ford Lake temperatures drop to                  the 20's. Not far from Ford Lake, you'll stumble on Turner Lake which is a charming lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Talona Creek Campground is a good place to camp.
