While you're here at Ellis Lake, you could also go to lovely Jones Lake, and Tanyard Branch has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mobley Creek, and after a long day       outdoors Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Hiram is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Days Inn Dallas is a great place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Ellis Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sweetwater Creek State Park is a great place for that. All through the summertime months at Ellis Lake highs are regularly in the 80's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, commonly in the 60's. Highs                  through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Ellis Lake. A large amount of precipitation falls at Ellis Lake; most of the rain falls throughout March; the driest month of the year is October.
