There's so much to do here at Elders Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Pine Lake RV Campground is a magnificent spot for that. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Rose Creek, and a great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Athens,Ga. Holiday Inn Express Athens Ga is a nice spot to get some rest, and Lower Elders Dam is a striking place.
During the
 
   months of summer highs here at Elders Lakes reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Elders Lakes. This place, Elders Lakes, it absolutely has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. You could also check out Upper Elders Lake since you're here at Elders Lakes; it's nearby, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Falling Camp Trail. If the weather  
               is magnificent here at Elders Lakes, you can go for a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail, and at Elders Lakes you always meet someone from Athens-Clarke County.
This lake is so wonderful. Elders Lakes is not the only site nearby, Lower Elders Lake is a nearby lake; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Mounds Trail. Stay the night at Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area, and you simply must stop at Horseshoe Bend since you're here at Elders Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a pleasant little spree to Barrow Creek; there's whitewater on Apalachee River for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
Elders Lakes sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and September is the month with the least moisture.
