You're perhaps hooked on lakes, Whitners Lake is one of those close by, and there's delightful hiking along the Whitly Gap Trail. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Nearby lakes? Sure, Camp Coleman Lake is right next door to Dollar Lake, and there's some flowing water close by, Boggs Creek is a stream       you can go to while here. Summer at Dollar Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 40's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Dollar Lake drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Dicks Creek near Dollar Lake; the scenery at Dollar Lake Dam is wonderful. Dollar Lake is located in the Blue Ridge                  Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Chestatee Knoll Campground is always a nice experience, and tremendous hiking is available along the DeSoto Falls Trail. Dollar Lake frequently gets a great deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is March while October is ordinarily the driest month. Buzzard Mountain can be spotted from Dollar Lake, and obviously, A tour to Hester Gap is always fun. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains is unbeatable! There's whitewater on Frogtown Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers; the Appalachian National Scenic Trail offers hiking at its best. After a long day outdoors SUPER 8 Dahlonega GA is a pleasant place to spend a night or two.
