It's a great idea to stop at Columbia Creek, it's in the vicinity of Dockery Lake, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Black Mountain Trail. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Dockery Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. Through the winter highs are mostly in the 40's while the cold winter       nights at Dockery Lake are in the 20's. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Blood Mountain Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Dockery Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Woody Gap Campground is a great local campground, and lakes are such serene spots, why not pop by Lake Winfield Scott. Dockery Lake gets a great deal of water; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. This lake                  is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not far from Dockery Lake you obtain some great water scenery at Dockery Lake Dam, and get soaked paddling on Dicks Creek. Just can't get enough of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Near Dockery Lake you find the Coosa Backcountry Trail which is a good hiking trail; there are other places here than Dockery Lake, for example Woody Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the vicinity of Dockery Lake. If you came to camp Dockery Lake Campground is a nice spot to do that, and if you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Dahlonega is a great choice. SUPER 8 Dahlonega GA is a tremendous place to get some rest, and from Dockery Lake you get a great sight of Big Cedar Mountain. This lake is so wonderful.
