Under the Hemlock is a glorious local campground; whitewater paddling is splendid on Long Swamp Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Disharoon Lake is near Abs Gap which is certainly worth taking a look at, and hiking along the Brookshire Creek Trail is magnificent fun. If only every       site had this much outdoors fun things, what a great globe it would be. Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge is a brilliant campground nearby, and a magnificent panorama of stunning Cox Mountain is available. The high level of rainfall makes Disharoon Lake a rather wet site; March is the month that gets the most rain; October is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motels - Jasper is a nice site                  to spend a night or two, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Benton Mackaye Trail. Sconti Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and dry warm beds await you at Microtel Inn & Suites Jasper. While you're here at Disharoon Lake, you could also pop by pretty Lake Petit, and Disharoon Lake Dam has delightful water scenery. Summertime at Disharoon Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's; the overnight is somewhat colder of course, mostly in the 60's.
