     Microtel Inn and Suites Atlanta Conyers is a pleasant place to get some rest; get yourself into a kayak and hit South River. Golf can be played at Honey Creek Golf & Country Club, and it's a wonderful idea to check out Bailey Creek. This lake is so wonderful. The sights at Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail will blow your mind. Mount Bethel Campground is a splendid local campground, and since you're here, you could also visit striking Dickson Lake.
 
   Be careful coming to Dickson Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. A wonderful spot to pop by near Dickson Lake is Peachstone Shoals, and Deerun Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Salem Campground is a great place to camp; there's always Dickson Dam to pop by close to Dickson Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Suburban Extended Stay Hotel Conyers, and get wet paddling on Yellow  
               River.
Summertime highs at Dickson Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Dickson Lake drop into the 30's. The high level of precipitation makes Dickson Lake a reasonably wet site; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park.  Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions....
