For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's; during       the dark hours in the winter at Dickson Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. Dickson Lake Dam is not far at all from Dickson Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Line Creek offers some good whitewater. Stay the night at Pirkle Campground; there are some nice whitewater spots on Chattahoochee River. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene places, why not take a look at Jackson Lake close to Dickson Lake. Dickson Lake gets lots of water; March is the wettest month with most rain, and September is when it's the driest.
