     Paddling on Alcovy River is so much fun. There's so much to do here at Dials Millpond that you need to camp here for a while, Salem Campground is a great location for that. A beautiful lake like Costley Millpond near Dials Millpond is a delightful location to take a look at; a tour to Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is worthwhile. Through the summer highs here at Dials Millpond get into the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures  
   drop down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows during the wintertime for Dials Millpond tend to be in the 20's. Dials Millpond is a quite wet place frequently with a lot of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is the month with the least moisture.
This place, Dials Millpond, it completely has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Little Haynes Creek is a good spot to go
 
               to; if you came to camp Campwest Minster is a great site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. A fine close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites COVINGTON; you'll come across a striking lake called Cousins Lake. Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Conyers, GA is a wonderful spot to get some rest, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop by Cousins Lake Dam.
Drift down the rapids of Yellow River in a kayak, and playing golf is lots of fun at Cherokee Run Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful.

Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park.  Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions....
