     Dry warm beds await you at Scottish Inns - Register, and De Loach Upper Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Deloach Lower Pond. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 60's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Deloach Lower Pond. This lake is so wonderful. It's always pleasant to explore Magnolia Spring, and you can stay the  
   night at Daisy Farms RV Park. Deloach Lower Pond ordinarily gets much precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is November.
You're sure to bump into some great folks from Statesboro here, and while you're here, you could also take a look at delightful De Loach Lower Pond. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff right next door to Deloach Lower Pond. After a long day outdoors Downtowner Inns Claxton is a nice site to spend

Haarley Lake

The subject lake was never named Haarley Lake.

When it was first built, it was named after a guy named Haar who, along with his family was killed in a boating accident. He was president of the Savannah Outboard Motor Racing Association.

After the Association, which built the lake, defaulted on its responsibilities to maintain the dam in good order, its owner Bertie D. Burpitt, changed the name to Burpitt's Lake.

After the death of Mr. Burpitt, and eventual sale of the property, the lake was renamed yet again Lake Loraine, which is its name today.

I know all this because Mr. Burpitt was my grandfather and I was raised on the property since before the lake was constructed....
