Soar down the rapids of Big Panther Creek in a kayak, and Days Inn Toccoa is a good location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a great location to do that, and golf can be played at Toccoa City Golf Course. Paddling on Nancy Town River is so much fun, and the top of Brady Hill is easily spotted from Dean Lake. So much fun stuff to do at Dean Lake, so little time. If you like swamps, you're in

If you're dropping by Dean Lake from Toccoa, you won't be the only one, and Big Leatherwood Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out. Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's while Dean Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime
are in the 20's. There's so much to do here at Dean Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Russell Campground is a nice location for that, and why not pop by Dean Lake Dam if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. A pretty
lake like Anderson Pond next to Dean Lake is a nice place to visit, and if you need a site to stay Country Hearth Inn Toccoa is a wonderful choice.

Stonecypher Lake
 | ...lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's. The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed. The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates. Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings. Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin. I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??... |
