     Daisy Farms RV Park is a delightful local campground; do explore De Loach Lower Pond, it's a charming lake. That right there is a load already, but it carries on; De Loach Upper Pond has it all. A visit to De Loach Upper Pond wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Magnolia Spring; Downtowner Inns Claxton is a great site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a delightful little trip to Bull Creek, and after a long day outdoors  
   Scottish Inns - Register is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. Here at De Loach Upper Pond you'll probably meet some folks from Statesboro, and there's always Deloach Lower Pond Dam to visit near De Loach Upper Pond.
At De Loach Upper Pond all through the long summer days highs are in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 70's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 60's with temperatures at De Loach Upper Pond
 
               dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Parkwood RV Park is a great campground nearby, and a pretty lake like Deloach Lower Pond is a good spot to have a look at.
De Loach Upper Pond is a wet site that gets a large amount of precipitation; all through July this area sees the most rain; November on the other hand is the driest.

Haarley Lake

The subject lake was never named Haarley Lake.

When it was first built, it was named after a guy named Haar who, along with his family was killed in a boating accident. He was president of the Savannah Outboard Motor Racing Association.

After the Association, which built the lake, defaulted on its responsibilities to maintain the dam in good order, its owner Bertie D. Burpitt, changed the name to Burpitt's Lake.

After the death of Mr. Burpitt, and eventual sale of the property, the lake was renamed yet again Lake Loraine, which is its name today.

I know all this because Mr. Burpitt was my grandfather and I was raised on the property since before the lake was constructed....
