Do stop by Davis Lake while you're in this part of Georgia. This lake is so wonderful. A beautiful lake like Hetrick Lake near Davis Lake is a brilliant site to go to, and if you're a golfer then a magnificent nearby course is Cotton Fields Golf Club. Why not visit Southern States Lake Dam if you're here; you're sure to bump into some cheerful folks from Thomaston here. Much precipitation falls at Davis Lake; the month with most of the rain is March, and September

| | is when it's the driest. At Davis Lake during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows at Davis Lake during the winter typically descend into the 30's. Stay the night at Shingle Roof Campground, and dry warm beds await you at Ramada Limited Locust Grove. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not visit Southern States Lake near Davis Lake. | |

Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on South River, and Red Roof Inn Locust Grove is a pleasant place to get some rest. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling
on Towaliga River, and Davis Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, New Hope Campground is a good place to camp nearby.

Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain.
