Locust Grove Atlanta Red Roof Inn is a perfect site to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Davis Lake that you need to camp here for a while, New Hope Campground is a magnificent site for that. All through the days of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Davis Lake. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with temperatures at Davis Lake dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. This

| | lake is so wonderful. Near Davis Lake you hit upon a golf course called Cotton Fields Golf Club, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Towaliga River. If you came to camp Shingle Roof Campground is a nice site to do that, and if you get bored of Davis Lake you could also pop by close by Southern States Lake.

A lake nearby is Hetrick Lake; get covered with water paddling on South River.

Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
