     If you need a site to stay Sleep Inn & Suites is a splendid choice, and do check out Gasaway Dam Number Two since you're here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Dam Number 26 a wet place; most of the rain falls through March while August is frequently the driest month. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Dam Number 26 is excellent! You're probably into lakes, Gasaway Lake Number Two is one of those nearby. Pine Lake RV Campground is a  
   pleasant campground nearby, and if you've had enough of Dam Number 26, Barber Creek is close by.
Throughout the warmest time of the year at Dam Number 26 highs are commonly in the 80's, and the night is slightly cooler of course, generally in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Dam Number 26 tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Simmeron Park is a good local campground, and a fine nearby
 
               hotel is Candlewood Suites ATHENS-GA. People from Athens-Clarke County love to come to Dam Number 26, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Apalachee River.
