There are some good whitewater spots on Alcovy River, and Covington Reservoir Dam is a picturesque place. For the period of the days of summer at Covington Reservoir temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. far from Covington Reservoir you'll locate Turner Lake which is a stunning lake. Covington Reservoir is a wet place that gets much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most, and September is the month with the least moisture.

 | Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
