Campwest Minster is a delightful campground nearby, and float down the rapids of Yellow River in a kayak. Coursey Lake Dam is a location that is in the vicinity of Coursey Lake, and Highland Golf Club is a great golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Coursey Lake, you could also have a look at nearby Smith Lake, and Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is a tremendous local destination. | | Coursey Lake a rather wet site; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is October. At Coursey Lake throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and the overnight is rather cooler of course, mostly in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Coursey Lake are in the 30's. Conyers is a nice choice. You just must go for Coursey Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Salem Campground is a great site to camp, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Conyers is a good place to spend a night or two.

Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
